Sacred Heart High School Jhang

Sacred Heart School, Jhang is an honourable institution and is situated in the heart of Jhang. The land on which it is built covers a big area.The lush green playgrounds, paved pathways, big shady trees, fragrant and colourfull flowers offer and attraction to new comers.

Sacred Heart High School, Jhang had its beginning in1956 and it was administered by the Dominican Sisters from the community of Faislabad. It had its beginning as a small school and by 1962 it was upgrade to class VII. Classes was held in the only mud building that existed at the time and it consisted of five small rooms, the surrounding verandahs and a courtyard. This same building also served as the living quarters of the Sisters. We are thankful to the Dominican Sisters of Faislabad who started the school.

On 28th March 1962 there was a change in management of the school. (Late) Bishop F.B. Cialeo O.P. handed over the school to the Dominican Sisters of Malta who arrived in the country on the 2nd Febraury 1962. The new management consisted of (Late) Sr. Andrew Sultana O.P., (Late) Sr. Cherubina Mallia O.P., and Sr. Rosanna Saliba O.P. The three of  them hailed from Malta. The Sisters were helped by lay staff. Later more sisters from Malta and Sri Lanka joined the teaching staff.

The (Late) Sr. Andrew Sultana O.P. was a women with a vision. She knew the importance of education for the                     

uplift of children and youth. she was very zealous and dedicated and tried to instill these same qualities in the staff. her aim was to impart and integral formation to her students were encouraged to recognize and use  their talents for their betterment and enrichment. Thus as early as 1962, and through the years that followed several developments took place:-
